President Jagdeo kidnapped by bandits

Snatched from Office of President

President Bharat Jagdeo was yesterday abducted by gunmen following in late evening invasion of the Office of the President. The President was snatched by a group of heavily armed gunmen in bulletproof vests after being cornered outside his office at 8:55 pm yesterday as he was leaving for his residence. Security guards at OP identified the kidnappers as the Feb 23rd prison escapees. Sources told Stabroek News that the gunmen carried out a precise military styled operation, firing only a few shots upon entering the compound which houses the offices. (Full Story)
