Relatives yesterday said the bodies of Bemchand Barran, 43, a fisherman and labourer of Enterprise Squatting Area; his 10-year-old son Morvin (a pupil of Enterprise Primary School), and Dhanpaul Jagdeo, 26, a labourer of Non Pariel Housing Scheme, will leave the Lee's Funeral Parlour at Camp and Lamaha streets, Georgetown at 9:00 hrs for burial at Enterprise cemetery at 16:00 hrs (4.00 p.m.).

Mr. Rahamat Ali, father-in-law of Jagdeo said Dhanpaul's body will be taken to his home in Non Pariel before a memorial service at the Enterprise Baptist Church at 16:00 hours (4.00 p.m.).
He said he wished to make it clear that if mourners want to march with the body from the Coldingen junction, using the access road to Non Pariel, he would have no problem with that.

"But anything outside of that, I would not be a party to," he stated.

The bodies of Bemchand and Morvin Barran will also be transported to the East Coast by hearse and taken to their home in Enterprise Squatting Area for a service according to Hindu rites.

At the end of the two services, all three bodies will be interred at the Enterprise cemetery.

Fish vendor shot dead yards away from home
- Police hunt suspect
BY AMANDA WILSON
A 29-YEAR-OLD Albouystown, Georgetown fish vendor was early yesterday morning shot dead a few yards from his home and cops are hunting his assailant.

Dead is David Kissondai of Lot 143 Copper Street, Albouystown. He was shot in the region of his neck at around 05:00 hrs.

A Police statement yesterday said the suspect is Mark Anthony Adams called "Jesus" or "Tun" and that he is also wanted in connection with another murder, which occurred in the same community, and a series of robberies.

The assailant was also involved in a shootout with the Police on Tuesday in Albouystown but managed to escape, the statement added.

The dead man's family related the events leading up to David's death.

His older sister, Gowrie Harricharran, known as "Simone", said every morning she, David and their sister, Radica Kamal, would leave home at around 05:00 hrs for Meadow Bank wharf to purchase stock.

The three siblings operate a fish stall at Bourda Market, Georgetown and normally travel to the wharf by taxi.

Harricharran said she and Kissondai were approaching the vehicle when a man, armed with a gun, approached them.

"He was aiming the gun at us and I started running and screaming `Thief! Thief!' He was standing on James Street by a shop before he come up to us", the woman recalled.

Harricharran said she was running towards her house to call the Police when she heard a gunshot.

"After I called the Police, I came back outside and saw David lying on the ground. The Police took close to 25 minutes before they came", she said.

David's younger sister, Kamal, said she was already in the car waiting on her siblings when she heard her sister screaming.

"After I heard the gunshot, I came out the car and saw David lying on the ground and the man who killed him pointed the gun at me and asked, `Whe de money?'", Kamal said.

She said that she threw her bag, which had about $30,000 and other valuables and documents at her attacker and he ran away.

"He shoot him, then ask for the money. What is happening? He had no children", a distraught Kamal remarked.

David's mother, Doris Kissondai, said she was at their gate waiting for the taxi to drive off when her son was shot.

"I get up every morning to lock the gate after they leave. I was standing at the gate to see them get into the taxi and leave when I heard Simone started screaming `Thief! Thief!' and then I heard a gunshot", she recalled.

She added that when she realised what was happening, she screamed to her children to "Run! Run!"

"They always threatening my children. It's been three years now that they have been threatening them. I would like the Government to do something because me and my other children are still living here", she said.

The family believes that Adams, who lives in the neighbourhood, has been observing their morning activities for quite some time.

Georgetown Hospital officials yesterday said David, who was shot once, was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors on duty.

The Police are asking members of the public to assist them in capturing Adams.

The release said anyone knowing his whereabouts or who may have information in relation to the murders and robberies can contact the nearest Police Station or call telephone numbers - 226-6869, 225-3650, 226-1839, 227-2128, 225-3052, 226-7065, 226-0449, 226-1326, 225-5401, 225-2683 or 225-2317.

The statement stressed that all information received will be "treated with the strictest of confidentiality".
