Dear Editor,
The article "PNCR laments rejection of Hoyte's plan for
Buxton" in KN 10/6/05 refers.
Unwittingly, Mr Corbin has disowned and rejected his own
plan, made subsequent to Hoyte's plan, for rearing chickens at
Buxton by unemployed youths. What happened to that?
I think that Dr Luncheon's announcement regarding the
offensive against the bandits hideout and subsequent statements
by the GDF and GPF have underscored the fear, even respect, the
administration and the armed forces have for the criminals. They
have no intention of going after them. So the less risky route
of asking them to go and set up bases elsewhere has been chosen.
I wonder if the armed forces are aware that the bandits are
still in the backlands, scattered into several small groups
between Enmore and Mon Repos!
Oh, what a web of conceit and deceit is being woven around
the Guyanese people!
Third Force - where are you?
Yours faithfully,
T. Jabour
Editor's note
We understand that the project to rear chickens did start but
was later abandoned.
